David Connor, a certified respiratory therapist, recently joined the team at Life Care Center of Acton, Massachusetts, to help care for patients with respiratory care needs.

Connor will see patients at the skilled nursing and rehab center 20 hours a week, treating those with respiratory diagnoses and educating them and their families about ongoing care.

Working closely with the facility’s on-site physicians, Dr. Gary Asher and Dr. Christine Beck, Connor also collaborates with Life Care Center of Acton’s nurses and therapists to care for patients with:

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Chronic restrictive lung diseases
  • Chronic heart disease
  • Pneumonia
  • Tracheostomy/laryngectomy
  • Sleep apnea
  • Asthma

Connor most recently worked as a staff respiratory therapist at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts. He has also worked at Spaulding North Shore in Salem, Lynn Union Hospital in Lynn, Massachusetts, and Boston Regional Medical Center in Stoneham. He has been practicing in Massachusetts since 1993.

“When I first came to Life Care Center of Acton, the first thing I noticed was the change in the quality of care I was able to provide as a respiratory therapist,” said Connor. “I came from an acute-care setting, and oftentimes the pace is fast. Here I have the time to get to know my patients better clinically and personally.”
