Physician Onsite, Inc., recently placed Dr. Christine Beck at Life Care Center of Acton, Massachusetts.

Beck joins Dr. Gary Asher, who also serves as an on-site physician, in caring for patients at the skilled nursing and rehab center.

“This position offers me a chance to focus my medical practice on nursing home medicine,” said Beck. “I am passionate about geriatric medicine in the long-term care setting, and I wanted to deepen my knowledge and experience in this field. I am also grateful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Asher, who has a wealth of experience.”

Board certified in family medicine, Beck most recently served as a staff physician with Lincoln Physicians P.C., in Lincoln, Massachusetts, and a physician at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She also saw patients at Life Care Center of Acton as an attending physician for the past four years.

Beck earned her doctor of medicine degree from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, in 2006. She completed her residency in family medicine at Dalhousie University’s Department of Family Medicine in 2008 and had a primary care research fellowship there as well. She spent eight years as a research assistant and has published research studies in several peer-reviewed journals.

“I have been interested in care of the elderly since prior to medical school,” said Beck. “My mother, who worked with elderly patients as a home care nurse, served as an initial role model for my interactions with seniors. Another major influence was having a grandmother with Alzheimer’s disease.”

Beck will also be available to cover for physicians at other skilled nursing facilities in the area run by Life Care Centers of America.

Originally from Canada, Beck currently lives in Acton, Massachusetts, with her husband and their 6-year-old twin boys.
